Coaches Needed

Players and Parents of players wishing to be recruited.

Prior to the coaches convention this year in Baltimore, STX sat down with some of the most respected coaches in our game to discuss the important aspects of being recruited.  The following article covers the top ten most important do's and don'ts for the high school student athlete and the recruiting process.

Every point here is important.  Please pay special attention to #7 "When you play in tournaments"  All coaches need to see you play!    Advise your prospective college coaches where you will play and check when at all possible the rosters and player jersey numbers.  You want the college coach to be evaluating you and not someone else.

Not everybody will be recruited. Be realistic but be proactive .... There are great schools with outstanding lacrosse programs.   Many feel as I do, that our sport will put more kids in the college of their choice then the other sports.    I know, both of my children went to the college of their choice and lacrosse was a major factor.
